چکیده

We introduce two new families of solutions to the vacuum Einstein equations with negative cosmological constant in 5 dimensions. These solutions are static black holes whose horizons are modelled on the 3-geometries nilgeometry and solvegeometry. Thus the horizons (and the exterior spacetimes) can be foliated by compact 3-manifolds that are neither spherical, toroidal, hyperbolic, nor product manifolds, and therefore are of a topological type not previously encountered in black hole solutions. As an application, we use the solvegeometry solutions to construct Bianchi VI−1 braneworld cosmologies. e-mail: [email protected]. Spherically Symmetric Solutions in a New Braneworld Massive Gravity Theory

In this paper, a combination of the braneworld scenario and covariant de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive Gravity theory is proposed. In this setup, the five-dimensional bulk graviton is considered to be massive. The five dimensional nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity theory affects the 3-brane dynamics and the gravitational potential on the brane. Following the solutions with spherical s...

Instability of Ultra-Spinning Black Holes

It has long been known that, in higher-dimensional general relativity, there are black hole solutions with an arbitrarily large angular momentum for a fixed mass [1]. We examine the geometry of the event horizon of such ultra-spinning black holes and argue that these solutions become unstable at large enough rotation. Hence we find that higher-dimensional general relativity imposes an effective...

Generalized Kaluza-Klein Black Holes with Squashed Horizons

We present the spacetime of a five-dimensional static black hole within EinsteinMaxwell theory. The solution represents a Kaluza-Klein black hole, whereby the solution is wholly five-dimensional near the horizon, but becomes effectively fourdimensional (with a compact fifth dimension) at the spatial infinity. The black-hole is electrically charged and so has two horizons, with a horizon geometr...

BTZ black holes and the near-horizon geometry of higher-dimensional black holes

We investigate the connection between the BTZ black holes and the near-horizon geometry of higher-dimensional black holes. Under mild conditions, we show that (i) if a black hole has a global structure of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole type, its near-horizon geometry is AdS2 times a sphere, and further (ii) if such a black hole is obtained from a boosted black string by dimensional reduction...

The Entropy Function for the Black Holes of Nariai Class

Based on the fact that the near horizon geometry of the extremal Schwarzschild-de Sitter black holes is Nariai geometry, we define the black holes of Nariai class as the configuration whose near-horizon geometry is factorized as two dimensional de Sitter space-time and some compact topology, that is Nariai geometry. We extend the entropy function formalism to the case of the black holes of Nari...
